FJ #7 Page 32

Remember when I promised a few pages back that we’d spell it out for those of you who hadn’t figured it out yet? Well here you go. Dynagirl is pregnant! Once I decided to continue her story the baby aspect made perfect sense in a way that I find pretty rare and wonderful. I could buy her retiring based solely on the events of this story, but it makes even more sense that she’d do so for the baby growing inside her, to give him a chance, even if it’s a small one, of having a normal life.

Kids, for me, have always meant something deeply special, even before the birth of my son Logan, who turns 2 tomorrow, by the way. As a kid who maintained a fairly strained relationship with my parents growing up, the parent child dynamic has always been fascinating to me personally. I’ve always really dug the nature vs. nurture debate as well as the whole concept behind the old saying “it takes a village to raise a child” so it was a very natural transition to add the baby into the story at this point, and it was made even easier because of when I added it because it allowed me to kinda foreshadow it just a bit here and there. I thought this as the reveal page was just awesome.

I really like the bit about her being called Dynagirl when she’s almost 30. Can’t remember what sparked that but I thought it fit pretty good.
