We're Counting Down To Heroes Convention!
The very latest on the upcoming event ... Comic Related coverage begins June 20th
June 6, 2008 UPDATE FROM THE COORDINATORS OF HEROES CONVENTION
Whew! We're just two weeks away from what looks like the biggest HeroesCon we've ever had, and are pretty swamped trying to get everything just so! So pardon the shortish Heroes Hotline this week--Let's dive right in!
In a really last-minute addition to our Guest List, we're proud to announce that superstar Star Wars painter Dave Dorman, BATMAN: GOTHAM COUNTY LINE painter Scott Hampton, and PUNISHER artist Rod Whigham have all signed on for this year's HeroesCon! You can read all the details on our blog!
Also this week, we announced a ton of new panels to our Event Schedule, including one on podcasting, one on webcomics, one on the forthcoming Tori Amos comic book, one featuring Jaime Hernandez and Jim Rugg--well look, I told you I was in a hurry. You can see the whole list on our Schedule page! All the new ones are in an attractive maroon!
Oh, but what's this? That's right--late last night we posted this beauty, drawn by the amazing Evan Dorkin and colored by the also-amazing Sarah Dyer! This will be our first ever official Indie Island convention shirt, to be available at HeroesCon in a plethora of sizes and styles! Pretty awesome, no? You are really going to look FANTASTIC in this thing, yessirree! More here on the blog!
Last up this week in our text-light and image-heavy pre-convention Heroes Hotline, today the Hero Initiative announced they'll be debuting their Mike Wieringo tribute book at HeroesCon! This is super awesome news--look for an announcement coming over the weekend (I'm backed up, it's crazy) on TWO chances to get the book signed by NINE of the creators working on it! Okay--still tons to do! You can help us out by SPREADING THE WORD EVERYWHERE about HeroesCon! Our show runs 99% on the goodwill and word-of-mouth support of our giant family of fans, exhibitors, and pros--so get out there and preach it! Just mentioning you're planning on coming to the show, maybe with a link to our website, is super. Or, if you're really aggressive, feel free to help yourself to some banners over on our Promo page!

We announced the addition of two more hotels offering a HeroesCon rate of $99/night: the Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn. More info on our Hotels page!
We announced the addition of Ron Wilson to the Guest List, courtesy of The Hero Initiative!
Not content with just a single addition to the Guest List, we also added our old friends Steve Saffel, Dana Hayward, and Budd Root!
Still not satisfied, we decided to go ahead and announce five more names: Chris Brunner, Sean Chen, Sanford Greene, Rico Renzi, and Mark Texeira!

them to the main page and we'll keep posting them there until the show!
