2010 EISNER AWARD WINNERS

The annual awards ceremony named after comic legend Will Eisner (The Spirit) took place last night, Friday July 23rd at the San Diego Comic-Con International. The Eisners are referred to affectionately as comics' version of The Oscars, meaning the most prestigious awards you can receive in all of comics.

This year's nominees included many independent and small press creators and properties and suprisingly very little in way of the "Big Two". Though notable titles like Captain America, Daredevil, Justice League: Cry for Justice and Fables were present.

It was both interesting and deserving to see titles like Chew, The Unwritten, The Walking Dead, Essex County and Irredeemable get their props in the nominations also, as it was to see many other small press and independent titles and their creators represented.

Less than 12 hours ago, though (as of this writing), the winners of the 2010 Eisner Awards were announced. Did your picks win?
