Perlman Dons Role of Graphic Novel Presenter at Comic-Con With Elwood

Actor Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) has taken his longtime love of comic-books to a new level: he'll be presenting his first graphic novel project, Elwood, at Comic-Con.

"ELWOOD is a project that was brought to me by fellow actor Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and I fell instantly in love with it," said Perlman. "It takes place in a parallel universe, and its lead character is a half-man, half-pitbull named Louie the Jaw.

Also attached to the project are famed comic-book cover painter Glenn Fabry (Preacher, John Constantine: Hellblazer) comics scribe Stephen L. Stern (Zen Intergalactic Ninja, Beowulf), rising artist Michael Brown, (Dreamworks, "Leapfrog") and screenwriter Peter Lancett (The Dark Man Illustration series, Shadow Masters).

In addition to Hellboy, Perlman is perhaps best-known as portraying another non-human character, the Beast, in the long-running TV series, Beauty and the Beast.

Perlman will also be Executive Producing ELWOOD (the motion picture) with Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin ENT, along with LOUMAY inc and Krakatau Films, LLC, scheduled to begin shooting in September. Mandylor will be directing.
