at Comic-Con International

Dani Dixon - comic book creator/screenwriter/filmmaker/reality personality - will be appearing at the 41st Annual Comic-Con International. She will be available for interviews at the TUMBLE CREEK PRESS booth (#2104).

Dixon was a panelist at the 2008 and 2009 Comic-Cons, and has had solo panels at Anime L.A., LosCon, and AdventureCon, to name a few. Dixon is often sought out for her expertise on preparing professional portfolios. Additionally, she has spoken at the Writers Guild of America on the influence of comics on Hollywood and regularly consults on comic book adaptations. With her film, "In Conflict With Kismet," starring Celestine and T.C Carson ("God of War," "Clone Wars") Dixon beat out nearly 1000 filmmakers to become one of six finalists on this season's Lens on Talent (BET). "Kismet" was the hands down audience favorite, garnering over 87% of their online and text votes.
Dixon speaks around the country on topics such as independent publishing, diversity in comics, and women in sci-fi. As one of the few African-American women running her own imprint, Dixon has a unique perspective on the comic book industry.
In just three years Dixon has taken TUMBLE CREEK PRESS from an idea to a publishing house successful enough to have its titles carried in major comic book stores nationwide. Last fall, art from two of her series ("13", and "Escape!") was featured on the Bruckheimer show "The Forgotten" (ABC).

At this year's Comic-Con Dixon will debut the much anticipated cover for "13" issue #5 and preview two of TUMBLE CREEK PRESS' upcoming series - "Escape! to Outer Space" and "M.I.S.//ing". Also, in her role as Creative Director, Dixon will be conducting the TUMBLE CREEK PRESS annual Comic-Con Artist Search.
