Final Crisis #6
Russell Burlingame on the issue

This week, while Marvel revels in the success of Amazing Spider-Man #583 (with its Barack Obama cameo), there is really only one choice for our Hot Shot of the Week: Final Crisis #6.

It's ironic, because when Final Crisis and Secret Invasion started, I had promised myself (and readers, I think) that only the first/last issues of the series could qualify as Hot Shot of the Week material, since usually these big events are so full of "wow" moments that it's impossible to distinguish one issue from the next. This week, though, we finally get an on-camera death (the first of the series, as far as I can remember), and it's the most profitable, popular character that DC owns. Even if nobody, including this writer, believes that it will last, it's impossible not to acknowledge it.

For that small handful of people out there who haven't heard about it yet, I'll spare the spoilers-but go read this book. Now.
