Sean Forney and Bryan "Stratos" Borgman visit
Main Street Comics and Games
Saturday January 30th

This past Saturday Sean Forney, his wife Stephanie and their good friend Bryan Borgman paid a visit to the best little comic shop in Springfield Ohio....Main Street Comics and Games. (Above picture of Sean and Bryan with RaynMan and Geek Street host Frank Raynor preparing for an U.V.N. interview.)
They stopped by for a local book signing. Sean and I have been talking about getting him into the store for a signing for quite some time, but it's really hard to nail this guy down Sean and Stephanie are true comic creating road warriors and take the term convention season very serious.
To the point they have been known to do convention appearances on the same day as their wedding anniversary and this year they will be doing a show the day of the Super-Bowl!!!!
Here is a list of show appearances Sean and Stephanie will be at...and this is just the first half of the season!

Feb. 7 th-Akron-Canton Con
Feb. 26 th-28 th-Stel City Con

May 15 th-17 th-Motor City Comic Con
July 22 nd-25 th-San Diego Con
And it gives me great pleasure to announce that Sean and Bryan enjoyed their visit to the shop so much (despite a smaller than normal turn out which Scott and I are going to blame on the bitter cold) that we will be having the entire crew that was there Saturday back at the shop Saturday May 1 st to help us celebrate Free Comic Book Day!
But wait...there's more. You heard here it first. The Forney's and "Stratos" are adding yet another stop on the 2010 convention road trip....
Saturday September 11 th...... .CHAMPION CITY COMIC CON 2010 !!!!!!

Stephanie Forney may be known in some circles as just a writer, she is of course the writer and co-creator of the Scarlet Huntress an ongoing series that features a modern day "Little Red Riding Hood" that learns she's the latest in a line of werewolf hunters.
But what some people may not know is that Stephanie is also a pretty impressive artist of her own accord. She's seen here working on some art that will be featured in a Scarlet Huntress origin story....the very first Little Red Riding Hood herself!

Bryan "Stratos" Borgman is in the house. Bryan specializes in making custom soundtracks for comic books and role playing games. I've met him briefly a few years ago while he was providing the "soundtrack" at Pack Rat Comics' 2 nd anniversary party in Hilliard Ohio and at S.P.A.C.E. 2009 where he was sharing a table with old friend Joe Shover of Zonetrooper fame.
I was very glad that Bryan wanted to come along with the Forneys and that I actually had chance to get to know him better. He's a very talented guy and I love his work. We listened to several of his past works during the day Saturday. About six hours worth! Great stuff! My favorite was the "This is Warlands" disc. Had a great hard rock/metal vibe to it provided by some great bass work by Bryan himself and some killer guitar work from his friend Trevor. I'm also a big fan of the "Werewolves vs. Scarecrows" track which I think is on his "Odds and Ends" disc. " Pulp City" was another cool one as was the soundtrack he did for "Symphony of the Universe" by writer/artist Molly Durst. A great comic and web comic by the way.

"Little" Richard Katterjohn, the man behind the camera and the counter over at the Underground Video Network. Richard has been stepping in front of the camera a little more often lately as he has been filming new installments of his "Behind the Counter" segments with the owner of Alter Ego Comics in Lima Ohio. The show can of course be seen over at the U.V.N. website.
That other guy is "Big" Frank Raynor sometimes known as John Goodman. Frank did not sign any autographs as John Goodman Saturday but was far from his best behavior, as usual.
Sean was the first interview that Richard ever did for U.V.N. and Richard drove into town to support his old friend. Watch for the interview recorded during Sean's visit at the shop to be going up on the U.V.N. site very soon.

During the time Frank was prepping for the interview, Bryan pointed out the uncanny physical similarities between Sean and Damien....the latest Robin. Kind of scary.

Sean engaged in a conversation about his other passion, music. Sean likes pretty much the same music as Frank and I ...a lot of great eighties hard rock and metal. Including a little Iron Maiden. We were discussing "Flight 666" a great documentary about the band. Sean himself is also a guitarist and fan of the band Chickenfoot featuring 62 year front man Sammy "The Red Rocker" Hagar. Sean and Stephanie recently caught Chickenfoot in Cleveland for one of the free shows they did in Ohio.

Time to get down to business. One of our loyal customers who happens to be a die hard Superman fan was buying every piece of Sean's art that had an "S" on it. And kicked off a great discussion about season 9 of Smallville.

Store owner Scott Riley and Bryan talking a little about music and making plans for Free Comic Book Day.

The crew from " Geek Street" keepin' it fresh @ Main Street! That's about it...we all had a great time...I'm off to watch Spider-Man 3.
Not.
