Well, will you look at that? Feels like yesterday since we started this strip and now we are on #25! I wouldn't wish for another team on this strip. Now on to this week's subject matter.
What is wrong with Diamond? As you read above and have probably figured out going to your Local Comic Shop...no new books were shipped. Blackest Night #6 was shipped last week where you had to digitally sign something promising to not sell it before the 30th. Marvel also gave comic shops a saga-like book with a prelude to Siege. But like I said, all that shipped last week.
I really don't get the thought process here - it's the week after Christmas where people have gift cards, lots of money and want to spend their money on comics at their shops. This completely hurts LCS's sales and is just a horrible business decision.
Though what I'd recommend is finding an indie book, and that can be any indie book. A book that is actually shipping to comic shops from smaller press people or even some of the bigger "indy" titles like Hack/Slash or Last of the Independents, The Middleman, or Scott Pilgrim. Just try anything that you wouldn't normally. Support your local shops!
Oh, and finally on a less serious not,e the imaginary 7th panel would have totally involved me turning back to the audience and saying "Imagine if you will..." because Twilight Zone is awesome!
