A Word From One of the Creators

From the desk of Eric Ratcliffe

I don't really have a desk - well I do...it just collects dust and has my Heath Ledger Joker statue staring at me everytime I go near it. Seriously, it's creepy....the eyes follow you!

Anyways, welcome to lucky #21! Does anyone else think that I look a little like John Cleese there? I certainly think that, which is kind of cool. As well as the fact that Bill's head explody powers kick in, which Chad thought was a slightly better gag from what Bill originally wrote, which, to be honest, I don't remember.

The Marvel/Disney deal though? Not sure I ever put my full thoughts out there. I am cautiously optimistic as with Disney's backing them, Marvel just gets stronger. Both comics, movies and other merchandising just have a bit more backing behind them.

I'd personally hope that the Icon line could turn into something a little more like Vertigo and pull new creators in and really give us some cool little indie books.

Funny fact about those mouse ears - and I'm sure I could make some people feel old right here - The Mickey Mouse Club or whatever it was called with Brittany Spears, Timberlake, Aguilera and others? Just one of the many shows I grew up on. (You wouldn't believe the eclectic list that makes up what I grew up on)

Truth be told, I was always a bigger fan of All That on Nickelodeon but still...the Mouse Club was kind of cool and I miss it.

Join us in 7, readers, as Eric continues to ponder the mysteries of what the Disney deal could possibly mean and what happens when he uses something familair to a lot of people to drive Bill crazy?
