This is a really nice looking issue. The two covers are really good and just invite you to come and take a look. Being a graphic designer I have to say, I am loving the logo. So then you get to the interiors and they just shine. I would describe the style as a simplistic realism. By that I mean, the characters are really nice but not really detailed. It's works so well from far away and with close up shots. Just a really nice looking issue.
Story: 4.0 out of 5
I can't really say I have ever read a revenge style story before. I suppose that this is what I would expect though. You get a nice introduction to the cast and plot within this first issue. It leaves you with a good ending, that kinda made me want to kick a little ass of my own. Good dialogue, and a cool idea work for me. I wonder though if the next three issues will be rushed, in terms of pace, because of how this issue played out.
Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
Alright so I am stepping aside from the horror books here and diving into what I think is a really cool start to this mini series. Sure I have a bias just because of the NOLA title (GO SAINTS!), but I really liked this. I don't often get a chance to check out a title that isn't horror and I already know I will read each and every issue of this series. If you like to see people get what they got coming to them, check this one out. It's setting itself up to be a good revenge style thriller.
