A Thank You Carved In Stone
On February 18, 2000 the world, the comic community, friends and loved ones lost an exceptional man and artist in Darrell Buffington. This year at Champion City Comic Con, the call went out to all to participate in an auction to help raise funds for a headstone befitting of this person that impacted so many lives. The response was overwhelming.
Creators donated many items to the auction, and both creators and fans bid on the auction. All of the proceeds of Champion City Comic Con and from the auction would go towards this great cause. And because of that Darrell Buffington now has a headstone to commemorate who he was rather than the umarked grave that went unnoticed by average passerby.
A message from Bill "G-Man" Gladman:
It is my understanding that the stone will be placed on the grave some time within the next few days and I would like to gather as many as Buff's old friends for that occassion.
I would also like to invite anybody in the area that did not know Buff but would have liked to have known him and to thank each and every one of you who supported the various fundraisers be it the benefit auction or concert that raised the money to long last purchase this headstone.
Thank you all so very much.
Bill Gladman
And thank you from all the Comic Related family for making this possible. It means so much to those who knew or even knew of this great man.
