Daredevil #500

Eric Ratcliffe on the issue

Another Hot Shot of the Week where I get to step up to the bat. A very special Hot Shot as well, Ed Brubaker's last issue of Daredevil and a very special anniversary issue as Matt [Murdock] hits 500.

For those who don't read the book on a regular basis, shame on you. Seriously though, it's been a great read since I first jumped on under Bru when Frank (Punisher) went to prison in order to help [Daredevil] and Danny (Iron Fist) was posing as him to keep appearances up during Civil War.

Bru has been able to fuse a noirish style into his story while keeping it very centered on matt's tragic hero life as well as the cases he takes on which always get connected into the other side of his life. He's lost another woman who gave everything to him, screwed up with all his friends and is tormenting himself over everything.

Bru never makes it heavy handed, though, as he keeps Danny Rand and a few others in play in the book. The master character he introduced also has his past revealed at the start of the book and it shows you just how much of a plan Ed had from the very beginning.

By the end of this issue, everything will change for Matt and lead right into Andy Diggle stepping in and taking over the book. I honestly think Matt will be in charge of The Hand, which would explain why he'd be getting Osborn's attention. Definitely get's Hot Shot of the Week and can't wait to read it!
