The Book of Noheim Hits Stores!
Bill Gladman's The Book of Noheim, which went on sale for pre-orders earlier this month, is now making its way into stores along with other books offered by its publisher, Wild Wolf Entertainment. The first store the books arrived at was Dark Star Books in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where store owner Alice Wilson is a strong supporter of local talent.
"This
is cool in so many different ways." Said Bill Gladman. "Dark Star was the first
comic book store I ever went to (eons ago) and although Dark Star's involvement
with comics the last few years has dwindled somewhat (they still carry some back
issues and trade paperbacks as well as graphic novels, but no longer purchase
new comics on a weekly basis) it's a huge honor for me to have the book go into
this store."
Coming soon to a comic shop near you (if you live in and around the Ohio Valley), the Wild Wolf Tour will be setting up and signing at various locations in the area. Dark Star is the third stop on the tour on Wednesday, August 19th from 5-7pm EST. Gladman will be on hand to sign The Book of Noheim. More information on Dark Star can be found at www.darkstarbookstore.com.
"Stop by and meet us, check out these great books and learn more about coming projects from Wild Wolf."
Other titles from Wild Wolf Entertainment that will be available on the tour and at the signings include:
-
Daughter of Dracula
-
My First Walk
-
The Adventures of Mr. Jigsaw
-
Spirit of the Wolf
"The
Book of Noheim is sort of a diary or Bible for a dimension known as the
Territories," Bill elaborates on the book. "It's the prequel to Jack the
Rabbit and tells the story of a young girl named Noheim who has "eyes that
can see through time" and the twists and turns her life takes her and her
companions Cedric the Wizard...and a young thief named Rajas.
Influenced to some degree by Piers Anthony's Inacarnations of Immortality
series, I wrote this (once again by hand) to be nothing more than a gaming
suppliment for my Into The Pandemonium role playing game. While I was married to
my first wife, and she was working evenings at a drive-thru down the road....I
would write. We didn't have cable...we didn't have a phone....and I didn't
really collect comics back then...so this helped pass the time.
The original Book of Noheim was 94 pages long and was contained in a spiral
bound notebook. A few years ago I typed the book out...and while doing so it
grew from 94 pages to 444 pages.
The Book of Noheim has twelve chapters and will feature interior artwork by
myself and a cover done by Springfield Ohio artist Chris Metzger and is
scheduled to come out March 2009 at a bookstore near you.
The seeds of an event that threatens to destroy the entire Territories and Earth
afterwards were sown in The Book of Noheim and continues into the Jack the
Rabbit books. It seems the only man that can save both worlds .....is a Rabbit.
Only thing is...he doesn't want to play the hero.
The Sun has gone black, the dead walk again and he would just as well find a
dark corner in his world to just be left alone and die.
How can he save two different worlds when he couldn't even save the people he
cared for most?"
Over 400 pages of action/adventure/romance/and fantasy!
Kick off the the forthcoming Jack the Rabbit novel series with the book the starts it all!
