Twilight Star Celebrates Third "Birthday" With STAR-CON III

Saturday, October 6th, Twilight Star Studios turned three years old, a milestone we're all very proud of. As usual, celebrating our anniversary saw us setting up our "traveling" convention we have dubbed "Star-Con", and hitting one of our favorite comic shops. STAR-CON allows every creator in the studio to set up their own table for an entire day, interact with the fans interested in projects that those same creators are most closely associated with. And this year seven creators (Gary Church, Chad Strohl, Bill Gladman, Joe Pruitt, Raichal Gladman, Tim Hagans and Brian Latimer) and five special guests spent the afternoon at PACK RAT COMICS in Hilliard, Ohio.

It was the first time that some of us had seen each other for a few months and some of the studio members had never been to PACK RAT COMICS before. They loved the shop and bought a lot of stuff. Gary bought so much stuff I didn't think we were going to be able to fit it all in the car on the way home!!!!

Due to his work schedule many of us had not seen Joe Pruitt (writer and artist of the BRIT & IVY comic book series from the studio that never sleeps and artist of the BUMTASTIC FOUR webcomic seen on the Twilight Star website every Wednesday) that we barely recognized him.

In addition to celebrating the third anniversary of the studio we were also celebrating the fact the 50th book produced by Twilight Star was released that same day!!!

Featuring the best of Twilight Star 2011-2012 and a brand new story "THE CROSSING OF PON'S BRIDGE" by Raichal Gladman, Stacy Gaston, and Brad Linder. Special guests at the event included Dustin Carson, who wrote three stories that appeared in the first three issues of the PANDEMONIUM SPOTLIGHT series; Jay Cordray, inker of THE UN-NATURALS and illustrator for the feature story, and cover artist for TALES FROM THE ';FIELD #6 (due out December 2012); and Eric Johns and Greg Peterson, the art team for the cover of THE UN-NATURALS: CREATURES OF THE NIGHT #2....

An unexpected bonus of having Eric and Greg at the show... turns out Raichal and I will be working with the two of them on a book entitled RAY-CHAL' :PRINCESS OF THE SANDS - cover art by Eric and Greg seen here...
Also appearing as a last minute addition to our special guests list was Seth Lyons, who is doing a WONDERFUL job on the art for the story "Church Yard Shadow," which will be appearing in THE UN-NATURALS: CREATURES OF THE NIGHT #2...

The event concluded with the recording of a LIVE episode of the popular RAYNMAN POWER HOUR podcast which was recorded on video by Richard Katterjohn from the Underground Video Network. The video of RaynMan Episode # 71 can be seen here:

And after that, these FIVE GUYS went to FIVE GUYS BURGERS AND FRIES for a damn good after STAR-CON dinner!!!!

So Year Three is in the books, we're still not sleeping, and already marching out to attack Year Four. And you can bet your bottom dollar that STAR-CON IV will be even bigger and better!
