The Genuine Imitation Jonesing Bogart Library!

by Art Bowshier

There is no denying the immense talent of Frank Frazetta, noted painter, illustrator and comic artist. Other than his hugely popular book covers and album covers, his best known work was to ghost the Li'l Abner comic strip for Al Capp.

The Public Domain comic here is from Magazine Enterprizes-- THUNDA, KING of the Congo #1 is a book emtirely done by Frazetta. This is basically Frank's version of Tarzan-lost world, forgotten city, etc...

This and other stories by the master artist of comics can be found at the Digital Comic Museun. The DCM is preservationist sharing museum. One can download a Public Domain book into their library. One can also donate a few dollars, if able, to keep the site going. The scans are usually from direct scans of books. There are also microfiche versions too. These are 60,70, and near 80 year old comics here. Every one has fallen into Public Domain--No on owns a copyright on any of it. There are no DC books, Marvel/Timely, or Classics Illustrated. as messing with them or any trademarked characters is just asking for a lawsuit. It is a worthwhile site to check out when you have free time.

Art Bowshier is an adherent to the four horsemen of fandom-Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror, Comic Books, Movies, and Professional Wrestling. He despises video games because he considers them OC brain-rot. He quit reading new comics back in the 80s when DC did Crisis.
