Anomaly Productions Announces Virtual Takeover of Comic-Con
Free Comic-Con Augmented Reality App Now Available at Apple's iTunes App Store
Anomaly Productions, the company behind Anomaly, the new epic science-fiction graphic novel created by Skip Brittenham and Brian Haberlin, today launched an augmented reality takeover of San Diego Comic-Con. With the "Anomaly Comic-Con" app, available for free on the Apple iTunes App Store, fans can point their iOS devices (iPad and iPhone) at any San Diego Comic-Con banner and characters from the graphic novel will spring to live in fully animated 3D with sound and motion.
Anomaly, forthcoming in October, will be available simultaneously as a 370-page hardcover book and as a stand-alone interactive app narrated by some of the best-known actors in science fiction and video games. The hardcover book will be the longest full-color, original graphic novel ever published and will come with a free augmented reality app for iOS and Android with more than 50 fully 3D models. Just point your iOS or Android device at the page of the hardcover book and the illustrations spring to life in 3D animation and interactivity. Creator Brian Haberlin will demo the book and the AR app at booth 5556 at Comic-Con.
Written by Brittenham and Haberlin, with art by Haberlin and Geirrod Van Dyke, Anomaly is set in the year 2717, a time when most humans live in off-world colonies, and a single corporation, The Conglomerate, routinely conquers other planets to steal their resources. The story follows a group of explorers who embark on a diplomatic mission to a mysterious planet, only to find themselves embroiled in a global conflict between its exotic inhabitants. In a world where nothing is as it seems, faced with lethal terrain, killer mutants and dangerous magic, their mission turns deadly.
