Noel Clarke Refuses to Beg for a Spot in the Who Reunion
While we all know that Doctor Who's upcoming 50th-anniversary next year will be HUGE with a capital H, and that many former Doctors and companions have already expressed their willingness to return for the big timey-wimey bash, there's one former companion who refuses to beg in order to return.
Noel Clarke, who played Rose Tyler's inept boyfriend (but later turned into a major badass and got married to other Who companion Martha Jones) Mickey Smith between 2005 and 2010, spoke to Digital Spy about his possible return to the show for Doctor Who's 50th anniversary.
"I'm sure if I was gonna be there, I'd know about it already. I'm not chasing it and I'm not... begging for it. I do my own thing and they do their thing. If they called me, then I'm sure there'd be a conversation, but I'm not calling them or chasing it."
We don't know about you, but it sounds to us as though Clarke (who's going to be in that little J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel coming out next year, by the way) would be willing to return for Who's 50th bash if asked.
However, what the actor's definitely not willing to do is to pull a *cough* John Barrowman *cough* and go around begging to be brought back to Doctor Who.
Clarke's definitely playing it cool, you guys.
The 36-year-old actor also added that he was still watching Doctor Who and that he was a big fan of Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor:
"I love what Matt brings to it and I'm sure the 50th anniversary will be no holds barred, I'm sure it'll be great."
