Macbook Air Gets an Upgrade
Apple refreshed its wildly popular MacBook Air lineup on Monday, with new models featuring Intel Ivy Bridge processors and 720p FaceTime cameras.
The processors scale up to 2GHz Core i7, with Turbo Boost driving speeds up to 3.2GHz and USB 3.0 ports boasting 500MBps read speed, alongside existing Thunderbolt ports.
The 11-inch MacBook Air features a 1,366-by-768-pixel display and is paired with a 1.7GHz dual-core i5 processor.
Base RAM starts at 4GB (upgradable to 8), Intel HD graphics 4000 and up to 128 gigabytes of flash storage.
Pricing? $999 for the 64 gigabyte model, and $1,099 for the 128 gigabyte iteration.
Meanwhile, the 13-inch MacBook Air is equipped with a 1,400x900 display and a 1.8GHz dual-core i5 processor (upgradeable), with 4 gigabytes of RAM (upgradable to 8) and Intel HD 400 graphics.
The 128 gigabyte model is priced at $1,199, while the 256 gigabyte system goes for a cool $1,599.
Both notebooks are shipping today.
