Excited about Comic-Con?
Imagine if it was truly international... Just wait!

We're breaking a bit of news this evening in a Comic Related exclusive! Talking with Des Taylor (creator of Ape Entertainment's upcoming series, The Trouble With Katie Rogers) for an interview you will hear here and on the Ape Entertainment website very soon, Des decided to break a bit of news here at Comic Related. We've learned that Liam Fisher, the man behind the 5 by 5 Festival in East London, has secured the rights to do Comic-Con outside the US. The first event will take place next year at the legendary 02 Center in London. This represents the first expansion of Comic-Con outside the US and a major growth in the convention scene for the UK.

What kind of background does Laim bring to the show? He's getting things started June 18th through to July 31st, as he unveils the first annual 5 by 5 Festival in East London, UK. The festival celebrates the ever changing world of pop culture and brings together the world of music, art, comics, films and fashion under one roof, regardless of genres or cliques. Hosting exclusive advance screenings of some of the biggest summer blockbusters such as Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and G.I. Joe, a variety of themed art exhibitions, live music, fashion shows, and celebrity signings and Q&As from the likes of Stan Lee, Alan Moore, the cast of Transformers, Kevin Smith, Christopher Nolan, Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz), and many more, it's all free to the public.

How does the 02 rank as a Comic-Con venue? It is home to The O2 arena (up to 20,000 capacity concert and sports venue), indigO2 (music and hospitality club), The O2 bubble (exhibition centre), matter (live performance and nightclub), as well as a variety of restaurants and bars. Sounds perfect to this comic fan!

See you at the 02 in '10? We hope so!
