Girl-Wonder.org Recruiting For 2012 Board of Directors
Comics website Girl-Wonder.org is holding elections for the Board of Directors for its governing body, Gworg. Voting runs from Monday, Jan 9 until Monday, Jan 30 at http://www.girl-wonder.org/membership.
Gworg is an incorporated non-profit feminist organization dedicated to fostering an attentive, empowered comics fan community, to encouraging respect and high-quality character depiction, and to assisting the professional development of women working in the field of comics. Anyone who supports these aims is eligible to become a member, and all members are able to vote, stand for office, and nominate others to the Board.
Board members work in a collaborative environment to create campaigns and target issues critical to the comics community. Potential 2012 projects include a campaign to end harassment at conventions and recruiting new bloggers to add fresh perspective to our community. This is going to be a huge year for Girl Wonder, and we're looking for dedicated organizers to bring fresh energy and ideas to the mix.
In order to vote, you must be a registered member of the Girl Wonder community. For more information, visit: http://www.girl-wonder.org/membership.
