Alterna Comics is proud to announce our first sketch card set to celebrate our 5 year anniversary in 2012.

We are currently looking for 50 artists to take part in this set and we already have 10 on board. Space is limited, so everything is at a first come, first considered, basis.

Set Details:

Come and celebrate our 5th Year Anniversary with Alterna's first sketch card set that centers around the amazing creator-owned characters that have graced the pages of Alterna Comics' graphic novels!

This 150 card set will be comprised entirely of original, hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind sketch cards created by 50 different artists, including Alterna's very own talented creators!

Unlike most sketch cards that are insert cards in a regular set, there will be no base set of regular cards for Alterna Originals - the sketch cards ARE the set! Cards will be available for purchase on eBay or on the Alterna Comics site. You can pick and purchase your favorite card (while they last) or you can test your luck with a bargain priced mystery card (a randomly chosen sketch card from the set).

ARTIST REQUIREMENTS:

- 50 artists are needed. Spots are on a first come, first serve basis. Submissions will end on May 1st, 2012 or once we've filled all the spots needed and at that time, a list will be put up featuring all the artists that will be in the set. Cards are due back by September 1st, 2012.

- 1 to 5 cards per artist for the set

- You must draw Alterna Comics characters from our current lineup of books. For an approved list, please click here.

- Cards can be drawn in any medium or pose that the artist sees fit, but no graphic nudity please!

- As a form of payment and thanks, every artist will receive 5 Artist Proof sketch cards from the set to draw what you wish. We only ask that you at least incorporate Alterna characters for these Artist Proof cards, afterall, it would be kind of odd if Batman were on an Alterna Originals card, the same way it'd be odd if he were on a Marvel Masterpieces set. You do have full permission to parody or lampoon the characters in any way you'd like though.
