The Three Stooges Trailer
The Howards, Fine and company are tributed in this big screen production coming in 2012. That's right, folks, The Three Stooges live on!
We've seen the classics, we've watched the biopic by Mel Gibson, and now the Farrelly brothers bring them to life in full color on the silver screen.
The Farrelly brothers have wanted to make this film since 1996, but it's been stuck in development for years. Finally, the production has come together and will see the light of day.
Playing the most famous characters of Moe, Larry and Curly will be Chris Diamantopoulos (24), Sean Hayes (Will and Grace) and Will Sasso (Mad TV) respectively.
The plot of the movie sees the three stumble into a murder mystery while trying to save their orphanage and wind up starring in a reality TV show.
Now, that premise, and the fact that it's being directed by the makers of Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin and Something About Mary to name a few, may leave you both befuddled and disgusted. And believe me, I was leary as well not really being a fan of their style of humor. But the trailer (below) shows the Stooges as I remember them, at least in those short clips. Whether or not the film itself will hold up or go the way of so many classic properties brought to the big screen (can anyone say Starsky & Hutch or The Brady Bunch?) remains to be seen. If this trailer is any indication, though, some of my fears have been allayed.
But don't take my word for it. Watch it yourself and see what you think of it. Discussions I've had already have been very polarizing.
