For the longest time writer Ron Fortier has wished there were a comic book that showed young boys and girls how to make a comic book. It was a question he and his colleagues are always asked at convention appearances and sadly most HOW TO BOOKS are big, thick and expensive coffee table size hardbacks. Hardly inductive to a young creator to learn from.
Thus he and his Mr.Jigsaw partner and co-creator, Gary Kato, took it upon themselves to produce such a book with the help of Editor Rob Davis of Redbud Studio. The result is a 44 page black and white offering that reprints one of Fortier's actual scripts for a brand new 10 pg. Mr. Jigsaw adventure. Then Kato provides dozens of roughs and composition thumbnails explaining how he interprets the script and brings it to graphic life ending with the presentation of the completed comic.
Finally, Rob Davis explains the modern processes of digital scanning and delivering the final files to a printer. This is a fun story within in a story that provides would be comic writers and artists an inside look at the entire operation from script to art and will be an invaluable to tool in any comic students reference library.
