Five Quick Questions with Neil Vokes

1) What's the book, Neil?

Flesh and Blood. It's written by Robert Tinnell, drawn by me and colored by Matt Webb, coming this month (October) from Monsterverse Entertainment.

2) Where can we get it and how much is it?

You can order it through your local comic shops and online through Diamond. The Diamond Order # for Book 1 is: JUL111158 FLESH AND BLOOD GN VOL 01 -I'm not sure of the price, but I'm guessing around $15.

3) What's Really Cool about this book?

I think it's cool because during the four 80-pagers it gathers together some of the most infamous characters of horror film and literary creation-including Baron Victor Frankenstein, Count Dracula, Carmilla and several others that I'd rather let you discover on your own and over the course of more than a century of time has them clash throughout Europe, Egypt and beyond.

4) What did you enjoy about working on this?

The obvious thing is the storyline that Bob and I worked it out. Drawing these kinds of horror-based comics is what I truly get a kick out of, but mainly it's a chance to work with Bob again and with colorist Matt Webb. Working with talented lads like these makes my job not only easier but much more fun. The icing on the cake is that if the Monsterverse company wasn't actually created to let us make comics, they are certainly the exact place we belong to do so.

5) What's next for you?

After Flesh and Blood I'm probably doing a pulp adaptation for the SEQUENTIAL PULP COMICS company. It's an obscure Lovecraft written tale that writer Jack Herman and I are very psyched about doing. The bonus on that project is that my old Brit buddy, Ade Salmon, will be doing the colors. Then, unless more Flesh and Blood is demanded by the fans, Bob and I have a project called The Voice that we both have wanted to do for a long time. If I'm still able to function after that, I have a half-dozen other things I hope to get to with Jack, Kurt Busiek, Martin Powell and some other great creators.
