Five Quick Questions on The BiN
featuring DC/Marvel Artist Scott Koblish

1) What are the books, Scott?
Inking O.M.A.C.
Penciling and inking stories for Marvel for the French Spider-Man market.
Penciling and inking covers and interiors for Marvel Super-Heroes Magazine.
2) Where can we get them and how much will they be?
O.M.A.C can be purchased either digitally or in paper from the usual
comic book outlets in the U.S.
French Spider-Man can be bought only in France. I'm not sure what
magazine it appears in.
Marvel Super-Heroes Magazine can be bought in over 40 different countries,
including Russia, England, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, and various countries
in South America, Asia and Africa.
3) What's Really Cool about this book?
O.M.A.C takes up DC's Jack Kirby legacy and runs the ball to a touchdown
every issue.
I love the French Spider-Man stuff: it's Spider-Man as you have always
known him, going up against one of his classic villains every issue. Issue 4 is
the Sandman, issue 5 is the Norman version of the Green Goblin.
Marvel Super-Heroes Magazine is puzzles, stories, mazes, toys and games
aimed for kids 6 to 11. It's a fun romp that focuses on a different set of
Marvel characters every issue - Issue 9 is Iron Man, issue 10 is Thor. Great fun
drawing those Marvel mainstays.

4) What did you enjoy about (working on) this?
I'm a big fan of Jack Kirby's creations, and the DC characters are no exception.
O.M.A.C. holds a world of possibilities- Brother Eye, Dubblex,
Build-A-Friends, etc, so much to play with, and Keith Giffen and Dan DiDio are
knocking it out of the park every issue. Dan and Keith are working old Marvel
plot-style. It's so much fun to see Keith's storytelling skills unleashed and a
joy to see what Dan comes up with in the dialogue phase, taking it even further.
I'm really enjoying the scripts for the French Spider-Man book. The
stories are tight, jammed with great things to draw and great villains. I lucked
out with Joe Caramagna as the writer, he's top-notch, really great.
MSH: First off - Marvel Super-Heroes Magazine is for kids, which
our industry needs: more product aimed at new readers, and secondly - I get to
draw all sorts of characters, introducing the Marvel pantheon to a whole new
generation of fans, in countries I've never even been in! Thor! Iron Man!
Russia! Japan! What could be better?
5) What's next for you?
Just those 3 projects right now, trying to keep the wheels spinning. Sales are
looking good on all 3 projects, so I’m hoping they'll last for a bit.
O.M.A.C. is plotted out for the next year, at least - Keith and Dan are
just a flood of ideas, and the Marvel Super-Heroes Magazine is gearing up
for the release overseas of the Avengers movie, so the next few months
are booked. but you gotta keep it rolling, keep moving- like a shark that always
needs to swim - it's a freelancers life, after all!
