Dynamite to Produce Ongoing Voltron Series
Voltron is to be revived by Dynamite Entertainment, who announced that its ongoing series based on the '80s property will debut in December.
Voltron is written by Miranda Mercury scribe Brandon Thomas. Covers for the first issue are drawn by Alex Ross, Sean Chen and Wagner Reis. An interior artist is yet to be confirmed.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe originally appeared on US television between 1984 and 1985.
Dynamite president Nick Barrucci said: "With the upcoming cartoon and a feature film in the works, now is the perfect time to launch a Voltron comic book for a new era, which will feature amazing Alex Ross covers. Our acquisition of this incredible brand is another step in Dynamite's exciting growth and builds on the ongoing success of our line."
Dynamite acquired the rights to Voltron back in March, outbidding Moonstone Books for the license.
