The demise or Oracle has been greatly exagerated as Barbara Gordon will make her return to the pages of Birds of Prey this December. Goran, who recently retook her original role of Batgirl, will make a guest appearance in the 'New 52' series, leading to a 'shocking revelation'.

"One of my favorite thrillers is Ira Levin's A Kiss Before Dying, because right in the middle of the novel, the cliche phrase would be, 'Levin pulls the rug right out from under you', but that doesn't do his legendary plot twist justice," Duane Swierzynski wrote on DC's The Source blog.

"That's what I'm shooting for with this first arc of Birds of Prey," the writer teased. "I won't tell you where it is [in the issue], but if I'm doing my job, you'll be relaxing, enjoying your comic, and then..."

Birds of Prey #1 will be published on September 21.
