Comic Related Sees Over 2.5 Million Hits In The Month of May

A Mid-Year State of the Site Report

Let's just say that the state of the site is good... VERY GOOD. Running site numbers is something you do all the time when you run a website. Sometimes you get a set of numbers that just blows you away. That happened to us a few days ago when we learned our hit count had jumped over 56% in just one month. It took until today, June 8th, to put together this story, wrap our heard around what's happening and share the success with you, our readers.

We're certainly not the biggest (yet), but we are exploding with growth which has allowed us to welcome new writers, new reporters, new columns and is propelling us to more and more comic events and shows. These are exciting times in what is already a great time to be reporting on comics!

Fastest growing?

What do we mean when we say we're the fastest growing comic news and information website? I think a quick look at the numbers will make the case better than a text explaination.

Looking at the last few months, from February to March our hit count grew 19%. From March to April the growth was over 30%. From April to May, we blew the doors off the site growing that hit count by 58% in just one month. Comparing May 2007 to May 2008, we've grown over 630% in just one year. When we started 2008, we were at a count of 750,770. At that point we set a goal of reaching one million hits by the end of 2008. We met that goal thirty days later at the end of January. Now, six months later, we've gone 2.5 times past that goal and we're only at the half year mark.

That is why we lay claim to being the fastest growing comic news and information website out there. If you've beaten 630% growth in the last 365 days and have a better hit count than 2.5 million to show for it, please let us know.

Indie and Small Press!

We're doubly proud of our growth because it means we're carrying the torch and exposing A METRIC WEB TON of people to many indie and small press titles they may never have known or read before. That is our #1 goal here at Comic Related. We cover all comics, but we're most proud of the stories that get people to buy a title from a company or creator they may never have heard of before. That's why we're here doing what we're doing... Lure them in with high quality mainstream stories, then introduce them to the small press.
