Upcoming Events at Comic Related
April 28th - We've got quite a mix of events, columns, podcasts and content coming your way over the next 45 days so I though it would be good to share the plan for what's coming up at Comic Related...
April 30th - Related Recap Podcast, Episode #4 - We sit down with comic creator Skipper Martin for a full show interview looking at his projects, past and present, plus we serve up a few surprises along the way. Additional podcasts will jump to life throughout May! Update - Skipper pushed back to 5/7 with Grant Morrison panel filling the show.
May 2nd - Conscientious Sequentials - Russell Burlingame returns with a new installment of his hit column, Conscientious Sequentials.
May 2nd - Iron Man Screening - On or before this Friday's debut of the new Iron Man film, we'll be sharing our take on the latest feature film from Marvel Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. Update - Free Comic Book Day coverage will push back our screening until Sunday.
May 3rd - Free Comic Book Day - Comic Related will be covering Free Comic Book Day from two locations this year. I'll be in Florence, KY for the huge Comics2Games day long celebration and Tom Stillwell will be sharing all the latest details from CAPE! in Dallas, TX.
May 10th - Jeff Smith and Scott McCloud in Conversation - We'll be attending and reporting back from this Columbus, OH event. Bone-creator Jeff Smith and comic book artist and theorist Scott McCloud will present a lively conversation about Smith’s career and each artist’s view of the practice and future of comic book art.
May 10th - Jeff Smith: Bone and Beyond - We plan to visit and report back on the new exhibition Jeff Smith: Bone and Beyond, which goes on view May 10 and runs through August 3. Taking place at the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University, the event features original comic book drawings by the Columbus-based artist and some of the comics artists who have inspired him.
Around May 15th - The Gold Exchange - Columnist Russell Burlingame takes a detailed look at the latest issue of Booster Gold and chats with series creators on a mix of DC Universe topics. Check out the previous Gold Exchange column here.
Around May 15th - Watchmen Set Report - Cassandra Faust returns with a new behind the scenes look at Zack Snyder's Watchmen. This time, she brought along her camera! She's shared seven updates to date and her last one was pure jaw-dropping fun.
May 15th - TV Party - Gordon Dymowski returns with a new installment of his outstanding column TV Party featuring the best in television, video and film.
May 30th to June 1st - Wizard World Philly - Russell Burlingame & Zachary Roberts will be attending part or all of Wizard World Philly filing reports from the convention. It's a fun bonus convention on our 2008 tour.
Let me point out that these are just the upcoming events! Along with each of these updates, we'll still be posting the very latest in info, features, press releases, headlines and Rapid Fire News. As we like to say, "If it's Comic Related, you'll find it here!"
